Courtney Hatcher

Girls Director/Varsity Head Coach
Coach Courtney learned lacrosse in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC area starting in 1993. She played defense, middie, and specialized in draw controls. She was team Captain at West Springfield HS, where she received All-Metro Area Honors and was invited to the Elite 200 Recruiting Camp at Loyola University. She walked-on at her academic school of choice, the University of Virginia. There, she made the Varsity team in the fall of 1999, a top-ten Division I school. After that year, she resigned from the Varsity team and played one year on the UVA Club team before ultimately deciding to focus full time on her academics.
After graduating from college, Coach Courtney began coaching in 2003, starting with a middle school girls' team in Lexington, Virginia. Upon moving to Augusta in 2007, she co-founded the first girls' lacrosse team in the area at Lakeside High School with Coach Curt Gary. She then led that program to 10 consecutive winning seasons from 2008-2017, commanding respect from Atlanta teams and putting Augusta on the map for girls' lacrosse. As well, she grew the program from an initial 14 players to upwards of 60+, added the JV team, and earned eight GHSA state tournament bids, with multiple 2-seed bids from the region.
Coach Courtney's greatest pride is her relationships with her players and helping them to achieve their goals. She has assisted a number of players to get recruited to play in college and has already seen two former players go on to become coaches themselves.
